Expert Systems for Technical Diagnosis - Some Practical Issues
نویسندگان
چکیده
The paper is based on the experience of the authors in the development of technical diagnostic expert systems. The use of a causal-probabilistic model of the technical diagnosis is discussed in the context of two particular expert systems (ES). Practical problems during the knowledge acquisition, veriication and processing when creating real ES and tools for ES development are analyzed.

A Fuzzy Expert System for Diagnosis of Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia in Children
Fuzzy expert systems are one of the most practical intelligent models with the high potential for managing uncertainty associated to the medical diagnosis. In this paper, a fuzzy inference system (FIS) for diagnosing of acute lymphocytic leukemia in children has been introduced. The fuzzy expert system applies Mamdani reasoning model that has high interpretability to explain system results to e...

Hybrid fuzzy expert systems are one of the most practical intelligent paradigm of soft computing techniques with the high potential for managing uncertainty associated to the medical diagnosis. The potential of genetic algorithm (GA) by inspiring from natural evolution as a learning and optimization technique has been vastly concentrated for improving fuzzy expert systems. In this paper, the GA...
متن کاملCompetence in Knowledge Representation
The range of domains and tasks for “knowledgebased systems” has been expanding at a furious pace. As we move away from trivial domains, such as the “blocks world”, the demands on knowledge representation systems used by expert programs are becoming more extreme. For one thing, the domains themselves are getting so complex that specialized technical vocabularies are unavoidable; consequently, th...
متن کاملSome Practical Issues in Modeling Diagnostic Systems with Multiply Sectioned Bayesian Networks
Multiply Sectioned Bayesian Networks (MSBNs) provide a distributed framework for diagnosis of large systems based on probabilistic knowledge. To ensure exact inference, the partition of a large system into subsystems and the representation of subsystems must follow a set of technical constraints. How to satisfy these goals for a given system may not be obvious to a practitioner. In this paper, ...
